• To be honest with you, I really don’t care about this whole Tiger Woods scandal, gossip or whatever… I am not a Tiger Woods fan, to me there are bigger issues and more important news in the world than, how many women Tiger had an affair with. Now, don’t get me wrong, I think what he did was dishonorable and I have a low opinion of him… The reason I am writing about Mr. Woods has more to do with my observation. I was reading the headlines at MSN.com and I noticed this image of Tiger and the first thing that came to mind is, he looks older, much older… This photo of him made me Google up his date of birth because, I started thinking, is he older than me?

I found out that he was born in 1975, which makes him only 35 years old; however, doesn’t this image make him look a lot older? Or is it just me? And, I wonder if the scandal may have aged him even more. I don’t feel sorry for the guy or have any pity on him… This is just an observation of a well known celebrity. Anyway… That is all I got. What is your opinion? And, in the meantime, if you haven’t done so yet, LIGHT’EM UP!

  • I know, a little late but, what the heck.I had a Great Easter with my family celebrating in Hemet, California. Right after a good Romeo y Julieta Habana Reserve cigar, I pigged out on home made ceviche, home made beer battered fish tacos, carna asada, beans and rice. My mouth is now watering and my tummy is grumbling just thinking about it now. I washed it all down with an ice cold Dos Equis.I can’t tell a lie, I will forget what happened yesterday…. Hey, I am old man… The memory isn’t as good as it used to be. The Easter Earthquake of 2010. This is one of the reason I am adding this blog, to record to help me remember the event. Anyway… From what I gather, a 7.2 earthquake hit Baja, California. We were at Joe’s, my Brother-in-Law, house in Hemet and I remember I had to go back to my car to get something, I don’t remember what it was and it isn’t really important so, I walked up the drive way, through the house and into the backyard when… Again, I don’t remember but, soemone “Do you feel that?” “Its an earthquake!” and that is when I felt it and it felt like a small shake that lasted less than a second to me. I didn’t think it was a big deal considering at the time I didn’t know the size of the quake or its location.Immediately, someone turned on the TV in the backyard to find out it hit in Baja, CA and they claimed it was a 7.2. That is a pretty big one in my humble opinion and I was happy to hear that there were no reports of serious damage or no one got hurt. I haven’t had time to check the news for details but, I will… I wanted to record this event first. I found some links to share below…http://quake.usgs.gov/recenteqs/Quakes/quakes0.htmhttp://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=weather/earthquake_center&id=7368031http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-mexicali-earthquake6-2010apr06,0,6996419.story

  • I know, can you believe two blog posts in one night? I found this other interesting little article about the possibility of getting to Mars in 39 days. How cool is that? I am a big fan of space exploration probably due to the fact my Mom had me watch “SPACE! The final frontier…” In case you don’t know, that is from Star Trek. I think the original Star Trek TV shows are the best ones. I enjoyed The Next Generation and all of the Star Trek movies, yes even the lame ones. I didn’t get into the Voyager or um… What was the other one called? Crap! DEEP SPACE NINE! Yes, the memory isn’t as good as it used to be. Anyway… MARS! Yes, I will never get a chance to hop, skip or tread across the red surface but, if man can come up with a way to get there, why not.
Scientist eyes 39-day voyage to MarsWith that being said, I say, Light’em UP!

  • When I first saw the title of this story about the Canadian Women’s Hockey Team celebrating their gold medal victory with cigars and beers, I thought AWESOME! After watching the video of the story with Skip Bayless ranting on and on about setting an example for young girls and yadda, yadda, it makes me want to tell him to lighten up. As matter of fact… Light up a cigar and have a beer. I don’t find anything offensive in these young ladies drinking beer and smoking a cigar. Unless, they are cheap, nasty cigars. Maybe, Skip is one of those smoking Nazis?

Congrats Canada and if I was there I would be smoking and drinking right next to you. Check it out below and in the meantime, LIGHT’EM UP!

Women bring beer, cigars onto ice

VANCOUVER, British Columbia — The women of the Canadian hockey team politely accepted their gold medals and waved to an adoring crowd. And then the real celebration began.
More than half an hour after they beat the United States 2-0 on Thursday, the players came back from the locker room and staged a party on ice — swigging from bottles of champagne, guzzling beer and smoking cigars.

  • I did see James Camero… er… Cameron’s Avatar Movie. I really enjoyed watching it in 3D and the effects were amazing; however, I had a problem with how the military, Marines, were portrayed… Like a bunch of blood thirsty, trigger happy idiots. I proudly served in the US Military and I have many relatives who are currently serving and I don’t see them as how Avatar portrays them. I don’t know… I miss the old John Wayne movies where men, Military men were portrayed as heroes.Anyway, I am not writing this to give you my review or opinion on Titanic Boy’s movie… Oh no, I am writing this to let everyone know I can’t wait to take my 7 year old son to see the REAL Avatar movie that they titled The Last Airbender, directed by M. Night Shyamalan. My son and I really enjoy watching this cartoon Avatar on Nickelodeon. It is a very cool cartoon so, when when we saw the trailer we are going to line up for this movie. Screw “I am the King of the World’s” Avatar movie, I want to see the real Avatar movie. Check out the trailer below.

  • Finally! I was able to watch Paranormal Activity. I have been wanting to see this movie ever since I had heard about it and seen the trailer over at AintItCoolNews.com. For the amount of money they spent on creating the movie, I thought it was awesome. It didn’t give me the willies like I was hoping it would but, what are going to do. The only thing I couldn’t figure out… I don’t want to ruin the movie in case you haven’t seen it yet but, it has to do more with the special effects of a particular scene. I want to know how they did it because, it was pretty amazing.

Anyway, if you haven’t seen this movie… Don’t be scared, watch and enjoy. It is fun to watch a movie that was made with very little money and be really good at the same time. And, in the meantime or any time… Light’em Up!

  • I have been a big fan of the Superman and Batman comic books ever since I can remember and I blame my Mom. 🙂 When I was young lad, I had problems with my knees that forced me to spend a lot of time sitting in a waiting room to see the doctor. My Mom purchased me my first few issues of Superman and Batman comics to help relieve me of the boredom of waiting for the doctor. I loved those books, I remember after reading them the first time, I would keep reading them or just look through at the artwork, over and over again until the books were so worn out, they were thrown away.

As I got older, I remember riding my bike to the local convenience store to purchase more books… Back then, comic books were sold for a dime. Now they are selling for $2-$3 a book. Anyway, when I read the following article about Chris Nolan taking charge of the next Superman movie, I am pretty happy about this idea. He did bring back the Batman after that terrible George Clooney Batman movie and maybe now he can help steer a new Superman movie back into the right direction. There was some things that I liked about the Superman Returns movie but, there was a lot I didn’t like about it. For more info, Click Here to read more.

  • Received an email from my brother back in Wisconsin… Not only did they get snow but, they had a 3.8 Earthquake. I don’t know if it is true or not, but I recall someone telling me a long time ago that there is a pretty big fault line somewhere in the Midwest. Whether that is true or not, I don’t know… I never took the time to research it. I want to look more into this because, if memory serves me correctly didn’t the Midwest have an Earthquake a few years back? Click Here for the rest of the story at Channel3000.com.

    In the meantime, Light’em Up!

  • Remember that movie starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan? Yeah, me too… I can’t believe it close to 20 years since that movie was first released. I remember Joe’s (Tom Hanks) luggage and how cool that was. To this day I still want his luggage.  Anyway, not that this has anything to do with this story that came out on Thursday but, I couldn’t think of another title.

I turned on the news Thursday morning like I always do to catch the weather report, I am obsessed with weather, anyway… As I was pouring milk over my Kix, they show this huge cloud of smoke over the ocean and saying nothing more but, up Next. I had to delay getting ready for work to see what the heck was this?

It turned out to be an undersea volcano erupting near Tonga. Fascinated, I just had to add this to my blog. Click here to read more…

    Remember to always Light’em Up!

  •   A movie and a martini?  Now, this is my kind of entertainment. Too bad, I can’t enjoy a cigar with that movie and martini. Now that would be the ultimate entertainment for me. Light’em Up!
