My cousin posted this on Facebook and now, I can’t stop singing this song. Love this song.

Yes, my wife and I did go out to dinner for St. Patrick’s Day to BJ’s to celebrate but, I wanted to comment on this article my Mom sent to us that was written by Roland S. Martin at CNN. To me Saint Patrick’s Day is an important holiday due to the fact St. Patrick brought Christianity to Ireland so long ago and as I was growing up, attending a Catholic School, we were taught about Saint Patrick and had a special Mass on March 17th. I have to say, I do get Mr. Martin’s point. We should be using Saint Patrick’s Day as a Holiday to spread the Good News and not treat as just a day to wear green and drink massive quantities of beer. I don’t see anything wrong with having a parade or having a couple glasses of beer to help celebrate the day as long as we reflect what the day really means and take action like what Saint Patrick did. Alright, I will step off my soap box for now. In the meantime, pour yourself a cold one and light one up. God Bless! To read Roland S. Martin’s article, Click Here.

Have fun today everyone but, be safe! I am dying for a Guinness Draught right about now even though I know I gave up alcohol for Lent. That was stupid of me but, what are you going to do. Heck, it doesn’t need to be a Guinness Draught, it can be just about any beer. Why do I have feeling, I will be calling my wife later this afternoon to see if she would like to go out for a beer at BJ’s in celebration of St. Patty’s Day. I just love their Jeremiah Red while eating their mouth watering Roast Beef Dip Sandwich with horseradish. OH, I am telling you it is amazing… It literally melts in your mouth and gives you this tingling feeling throughout your body. Okay, maybe that is just me but, I am telling you it is delicious and highly recommend it. I think we went their last year for St. Patty’s Day but, I don’t really recall. I do know we went out for a brew or two. I know my wife loves to go out for St. Patty’s Day.
I will stop rambling on and wish you the “Luck of the Irish” or something… Until then, light up a stogie and enjoy this day. If you are in the OC area, stop by the Tobacco Barn for their St Patty Event tonight.

What the…?! I was driving home from work last Friday evening listening to ESPN radio, knowing full well this year’s football season is in jeopardy but, I thought for sure the owners and players would work something out. No football for me equals no money for either the players or the owners. I am not anyone of their sides, I truly believe they can work it out if they really wanted to.
I don’t know if I ever mentioned how much I really enjoy Netflik which gives me access to many different movies that I can stream onto my computer to watch at any time. One of the movies I decided to watch on last Friday was North Dallas Forty which takes place back in the 70’s and it is about football. If you haven’t seen it yet, watch it and if you have seen it watch it again. It isn’t a comedy though there are some funny scenes in it, it is more of a drama. What struck me the most is the beginning of the movie as the star of the movie, Nick Nolte struggles to get out of bed in the morning and I started to wonder how much do the current players struggle to get out of bed after a game. I truly believe they are sore after a game but, I never really think about… All I do is watch and enjoy the game never really concerned about how a player feels after the game unless they are seriously injured. Sounds selfish, I know but, how many of fans truly think about it? I am sure there is something the two sides can work out, make it work and I don’t really care to know the details. I just want them to get back so, they can entertain my lazy butt that sits in my soft recliner on Sunday afternoons and Monday nights with a beer in my hand.
Check out the trailer below for North Dallas Forty.
Until next time, Light’em Up!

On my way into work this morning and I have been listening to further news reports coming out of Japan about the 8.9 Earthquake and the tsunami that hit. I am not going to say anything further because, there are plenty of news stories out there and I simply want to let the people over there know that they are in my prayers over here.

Not sure if that is the proper greeting for the day but, what the heck I am going to wish onto everyone anyway. Yes, it that time of year when all us Catholics frantically decide on what to give up for the next 40 days and 40 nights. Last year, I was too lazy and didn’t give up anything with the exception of not eating meat on Fridays. This year, I am going to give up drinking alcohol, which is very hard for me to do along with not eating any snacks, another weakness of mine. I have to admit I am not going to give up smoking.
Lately, I have been thinking about my relationship with God, which hasn’t been very good. I need to really work on getting my fat, lazy butt to church every Sunday. I admit lately, I just don’t feel like getting up on Sunday mornings. This Lenten Season, I am going to make every Sunday Service. Anyway, for those of you who feel weird about a “Religious” post, TOO BAD.

I have seen the images of Chris Evans in the Cap outfit and I think they are pretty cool but, I keep thinking back to the other Captain America movie… That I don’t think every hit theaters, it was released back in early 90’s. Here is the link to the information on IMDB,http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103923/. That was a terrible movie. I am hoping this new Captain America movie will just KICK ASS and I am not referring to the movie Kick Ass. I grew up on reading Captain America, Spider-Man, Batman and Superman comic books. My favorite Captain America comic book series, I don’t recall the year but, had to be in the early 80’s is when he went up against Baron Blood. I used to read the old Dracula comic books as well so, seeing Captain America fight a vampire was awesome.
I truly hope they make Captain America look and act like a true American hero and not, the usual Hollywood trashing America like they usually do. Take a look at the following trailer and let me know what you think.

WOW! I am finally enjoying Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat Beer. When I first pulled off the cap of the ice cold bottle, I could smell the cheeriness, is that even a word? Ah, who cares… Anyway, after pouring the beer into a clear glass, I could see it is a clear amber color with plenty of foam at the top. Yes, I like my beer with head. My first taste is of wheat but, the after taste you can really taste the cheeries and it is delicious. I highly recommend this beer and I now need to try this beer with one my favorite stogies. Until next time, Light’em Up! -
Today, I stopped by my favorite tobacco shop, the Tobacco Barn and I was given a cigar that I know nothing about and tried it out of curiosity… I am always willing to try a cigar no matter if it is a super premium to a really cheap one. I have found some cheap cigars to be pretty good to smoke while doing yard work or for those times when I really want a cigar but, I know I don’t have a lot of time to finish it off. This cigar has a gold band with the colors of red, white and blue. A large white star with only the words of Premium Cuban Hand Rolled and stars are stamped within the gold portion. I scanned and pasted an image of the band here but, wanted to give more of a description just for kicks and giggles. I know for sure, this isn’t a cuban… The wrapper was a very dark brown and it looked like it was expertly created. It started off as a really pleasant smoke but, by the time I reached the half way mark, the taste went from pleasant to bad. Another thing I noticed about this cigar, it was a very messy cigar, it ended up leaving behind a lot of ashes. I know cigars will give off ash when smoking them but, it seemed the ash to this cigar was very fine and not come off in a clump like it does on a great premium cigar. I had to put it out and lit up a Henry Clay, which is my personal favorite. Anyway, I am trying to find out more about this cigar just for kicks and see if anyone else has tried it and I can’t seem to find any information on it. The Tobacco Barn is always getting sampler cigars and they don’t recall where it came from. If you know anything about this cigar, let me know as I am always curious. Until next time… Light’em UP!
