Yes, my wife and I did go out to dinner for St. Patrick’s Day to BJ’s to celebrate but, I wanted to comment on this article my Mom sent to us that was written by Roland S. Martin at CNN. To me Saint Patrick’s Day is an important holiday due to the fact St. Patrick brought Christianity to Ireland so long ago and as I was growing up, attending a Catholic School, we were taught about Saint Patrick and had a special Mass on March 17th. I have to say, I do get Mr. Martin’s point. We should be using Saint Patrick’s Day as a Holiday to spread the Good News and not treat as just a day to wear green and drink massive quantities of beer. I don’t see anything wrong with having a parade or having a couple glasses of beer to help celebrate the day as long as we reflect what the day really means and take action like what Saint Patrick did. Alright, I will step off my soap box for now. In the meantime, pour yourself a cold one and light one up. God Bless!
